The Miami Heat continue to compete for playoff positioning while the Toronto Raptors are competing for draft positioning.

The Raptors continue to sit key players in hopes of holding onto its draft pick (top six protected) while the Heat are trying to gear up for another NBA Finals run from the Play-In Tournament. Can Miami take care of business as double-digit favorites?

Raptors Key Players to Watch

Immanuel Quickley: The Raptors are starting back-end rotation players, but Quickley continues to perform when on the floor. Despite a losing effort, Quickley put up 32 points with seven rebounds and nine assists against the Nets on Wednesday.

Heat Key Players to Watch

Jimmy Butler: Will ‘Playoff Jimmy’ round into form? After playing a pivotal role in the team’s double overtime win against the Hawks, Butler couldn’t follow it up against the Mavericks, scoring only 12 points in 36 minutes. Miami will hope to get back on track against Toronto amid a heated playoff race.

Raptors vs. Heat Prediction and Pick

Counting on Miami to cover a big spread may not seem comfortable on the surface, but the Raptors are clearly out-matched as the team is more intent on getting bench players more playing time at the end of the season.

The Heat should have little issue scoring on offense, the Raptors are 29th in points per 100 possessions allowed since March 1st as the team has posted a 3-18 record in that span.

Given that Miami still needs to compete and is likely intent on building some momentum ahead of the postseason, I’ll target the team’s point total over as I avoid trusting the unit to cover a more than two-touchdown spread.
