After the Miami Heat suffered their longest losing streak in 17 years, the 10-game skid officially came to an end on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets. They put together a strong showing that included some encouraging, yet rare, second half execution— and may have just unlocked the talent of a key piece in the process.

Andrew Wiggins was sensational, totaling a season-high 42 points on 11 of 16 shooting to go along with five assists and two steals. He drilled six 3-pointers and showcased his elite two-way ability.

The newly acquired forward has dealt with some lingering ankle issues during the beginning of his Heat tenure. However, he seems to have found his footing. After scoring 30 points in Friday night's loss to the Houston Rockets, Wiggins has totaled 72 points over the last two games.

It was the second-highest scoring game of Andrew Wiggins’ 11-year career.

Not only has Wiggins’ recent outings looked encouraging from an individual standpoint, but it shows a glimpse of the true potential of the Heat as a group. Miami’s atrocious month of March may have looked rough in hindsight, but there’s still time to build continuity over this final stretch.

The Heat have yet to see an outing where all three of their All-Stars -- Wiggins, Herro and Bam Adebayo -- have dominated at the same time. Tyler Herro had 29 in a supporting role. Adebayo provided his typical two-way impact, but he was quiet offensively, with just 11 points.

Ultimately, Wiggins and Herro’s scoring outbursts got the job done. It is a great sign to see that Miami can earn wins even with one of its top three guys struggling to put up points.

Still, it makes fans wonder just how good the team could look if all three of those core guys are feeling it on offense at the same time.

The potential is certainly there. Even if the trio scores closer to their season averages, they would pose as a tough opponent. It’s all about consistency, and unfortunately that is the biggest flaw of this Heat roster.

At the end of the day, the losing streak overshadowed the talent this team truly has on paper. Perhaps Wiggins’ emergence in the lineup can light a fire under the squad to end the regular season on a high note heading into the play-in tournament.
