The Miami Heat could get an early look at what Tyler Herro's trade value is if the Trae Young rumors hold any truth. As similar players, whatever the Atlanta Hawks get in a potential trade of Young could give the Heat an idea of what a Herro trade could eventually look like.

Of course, that's in the event that Miami moves to trade Herro.

That's far from a guarantee, but it has to be at least an option on the table in the distant future - especially considering the uncertainty that surrounds his future with the team.

As a similar player to Young, the Heat could be interested in seeing how this storyline begins to play out over the next few weeks.

Trae Young is in the rumor mill again

According to Marc Stein, the Washington Wizards have emerged as a legitimate landing spot for Young. The whispers are that such a deal would revolve around CJ McCollum's expiring contract. Of course, that'd almost certainly be just the starting point of a deal.

You'd imagine that the Hawks would want a young prospect or a first-round pick to be included in a deal, at least.

Whether or not the Wizards would be willing to play ball with those demands would ultimately signal whether a deal could come together before the deadline or not. Nevertheless, the Heat will certainly learn a lot about Herro's potential trade value depending on how this deal sorts itself out.

Would the Heat trade Tyler Herro?

The big question is, would the Heat even get to the point where they'd aggressively pursue a Herro trade? That's difficult to answer, even more so considering that Herro has only appeared in six games so far this season.

I can't envision the Heat could even get there with how little Herro has played this season, unless, of course, they were in the mix for a superstar player.

Short of that happening, I'd be shocked if we saw the Heat look for a landing spot for Herro the way the Hawks seem to be doing with Young.

But, still, it wouldn't hurt for the Heat to get a sneak peek at what Herro's trade value would be without the headache of calling teams (with the chance that it could leak through the media).

This could be a huge win-win for the Heat, even if they would never admit it.

It's far from a foregone conclusion that the Hawks are going to trade Young; if they do, though, there's no team in the NBA that may be more interested in what that deal may end up looking like (outside of Atlanta) than the Heat.
