LeBron James Won’t Reveal ‘Secret Motivation’ To Dwyane Wade On TV

Game 3 of the 2015 NBA Finals happened Tuesday night, with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking a 2-1 series lead over the Golden State Warriors. And while Dwyane Wade once again joined the commentary crew, this time it led to interviewing former teammate, LeBron James.

James, who finished the night with 40 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists, led his team to victory for the second time in a row. During Game 2, James put up 39 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, and for a while was the only player scoring other than Timofey Mozgov (17 points, 11 rebounds). Tuesday, things were not much different. Matthew Dellavedova was the team’s second lead scorer, with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. With Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love out, as well as Iman Shumpert having battled a groin injury and now a shoulder strain, it has all but become James’ game.

Prior to Tuesday’s matchup, James revealed that he had a “secret motivation” to win this year’s championship, but refused to say any more than that. Although questioned by many after his Game 3 win (including Doris Burke and Wade himself), and becoming a running joke in the Cavaliers locker room, he remained mum on the situation. However, it seems now that Wade does in fact know:

"“[Wade] tried to get the secret motivation out of me, and I didn’t give it to him either, even though I told him,” said James. “But he won’t tell you guys, though. He won’t tell y’all until hopefully after this is all over.”"

James’ source of motivation is certainly now a hot topic of discussion, but a bigger mystery still remains: where will Wade end up next season? This question came up during the pre-game show of Game 2, but of course, Wade let nothing slip.

"“Well, listen, it’s summer time. So when summer time and free agency [come together], it’s going to be a lot of talk. And right now, I’m glad that the Finals is going and we’re here. And we’ll worry about that in July. Right now, we’re going to focus on these Finals.”"

Despite missing out on the postseason this year, Wade is obviously still happy to cheer on his best friend. While much of Heat Nation may still be bitter over losing the King, there is something to be said about not letting business get the best of this friendship.
