The latest updates on Miami Heat free agent Dwyane Wade.

Next: Heat, Dragic Agree to $90 Million Deal

[UPDATE, 7:32 PM] Barry Jackson and Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald are reporting that the Miami Heat are confident a deal with Dwyane Wade will get done.

Goodman reports that talks are “ongoing.” Jackson reports that others in the NBA say that the Heat have “expressed confidence” that a deal will get done. He also confirms Wallace’s report (previous update) that he is considering two separate proposals. It seems to me that the Heat have given Wade a choice of what he wants to do–put the power in his hands–and Wade will let them know.

[UPATE, 6:54 PM] ESPN’s Michael Wallace reports that Dwyane Wade is thinking over at least two Heat proposals. One is reportedly worth the max for one year, which would make Wade a free agent again in 2016. The other deal on the table is for more years with a lower salary per year.

Wallace also reports that if the Heat were to offer three-years for $60 million, a “deal would be done by now.”

Contract talks between Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat continued into Wednesday afternoon according to multiple media reports. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported in the afternoon that talks were “progressing” in regards to a multi-year deal.

Woj previously reported on Fox Sports Live that the Heat would likely sign Wade to a max deal, and that “chances are minimal” that he leaves Miami.

The Associated Press’ Tim Reynolds reported Tuesday that Wade has met with Heat leadership twice in recent days to “discuss his future with the team.”

The belief is that Wade will re-sign in Miami, and that rumors of him being interested in the Los Angeles Lakers and others was a tactic to gain leverage in negotiations. As ESPN’s Chris Broussard tweeted, their isn’t a “robust” market for Wade due to his age, at 33, and recent knee injuries.

Wade opted out of his $16.1 million contract in hopes of signing a multi-year deal and possibly a raise. The Heat re-signed Goran Dragic to a five-year, $90 million deal Wednesday and, with Luol Deng already opting in, Wade becomes their priority in free agency.
