In 2012 on this date, Norris Cole and Dexter Pittman partook in giving away school supplies, in an event sponsored by Office Depot. Unfortunately, things did not go as smoothly as planned: not only was it unpleasantly hot outside, but there seemed to be a so-called computer glitch that caused an issue with bus pickup times for the children. Luckily, Cole and Pittman (along with Miami Heat mascot Burnie) seemed to ease frustrated parents. The Heat’s championship trophy was also available for viewing; a pretty cool sight on the first day of school, if you ask me.
