NBA Draft 2017: When the Miami Heat pick

Here is when the Miami Heat will pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, and how to watch on television and online.

With the 14th pick, the Miami Heat will be the last team picking in the lottery during the NBA Draft on Thursday.

The Heat will be selecting after the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings (twice), Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets.

The Heat won’t know who will be available when they are on the clock, and have been doing their homework, studying several prospects who could be on the board at No. 14.

Because Miami’s pick is promised to the Suns if it doesn’t land in the top seven next season, this selection becomes extra important. The Heat need to find a contributor with this pick.

Among the players believed to go around when the Heat pick include: North Carolina forward Justin Jackson, Duke guard Luke Kennard, Louisville guard Donovan Mitchell, Wake Forest power forward John Collins, Gonzaga center Zach Collins and Indiana forward OG Anunoby, among others.

Miami currently has only one pick in the draft, though it’s possible they could buy their way into the second round. The Heat have about $3 million to spend in trades. Four teams bought second-round picks in during the 2016 draft.
