2. Joe Ingles, Utah Jazz

While far less heralded than the aforementioned Porter and Gallinari, Ingles nonetheless represents a great deal of value as a free agent option this summer.

Ingles recently completed his third season for the Jazz despite the fact that he will turn 30 before the upcoming season. However, his lack of NBA mileage has been made up by years of playing both abroad in Spain and Israel, and internationally for the Australian Olympic team.

Having been given more responsibilities this season, Ingles responded by having his most productive year for the Jazz. Playing all 82 games, Ingles averaged 7.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.1 minutes per game.

His most impressive start line was his 44.1 percent three-point shooting. Coupled with his excellent ball-handling and playmaking abilities, Ingles’ ability to stretch the floor was a key component of a 51-win Jazz team.

Ingles’ best game for the season saw him produce 21 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists against the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. Playing 35 minutes, Ingles shot 5-of-9 from behind three, and was a team high +11 while on the floor.

A restricted free agent, Ingles at this stage is keen to return to Utah.

"“I think the priority is Utah. I loved it there….As a family, we really liked the city. What the team does for the families — which is obviously a little unknown to the outside world — looking after Renae, which they do with all of the wives and families and girlfriends, and all the significant others, is amazing. “Obviously, I haven’t been with any other NBA teams, but the way they did that was probably second to none. It’s important for me, to know she’s looked after when we’re away for, say, 10 days.”"

While these are encouraging statements for the Jazz, it is unknown at this stage what direction they will be heading this offseason.

It’s been speculated that Ingles’ price on the open market will be around the three-year, $30 million range. In terms of his role with the Heat, his versatility would enable to not only backup Justise Winslow at small forward, but also pinch-hit at 1 and 2 spots.

While his not the star attraction this summer, Ingles’ versatility and experience would prove invaluable. The reason for him placing ahead of Porter and Gallinari is simply the cost involved, and the fact the Heat already have a small forward in place in Winslow. Ingles’ ability to start, come off the bench and play multiple positions also make him a more attractive and tenable alternative.
