LaMarcus Aldridge is widely regarded as one of the better power forwards in the NBA, boasting an impressive offensive arsenal. Would it be wise for the Miami Heat to make a move for the 11-year veteran?

San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge has been a walking 20 points and 10 rebounds for nearly a decade now. After spending his first nine seasons in the pacific northwest with the Portland Trail Blazers, Aldridge migrated to the Alamo City during the 2015 offseason.

The results? Back-to-back 60-win seasons, including in the first year of the post-Tim Duncan era.

An argument can be made that if fully healthy, this year’s Spurs would have given the Fantastic Four in Golden State a run for their money.

On the opposite end of the spectrum are the Miami Heat.

More from All U Can Heat

Pat Riley and company have missed the postseason in two of the past three seasons, and with Chris Bosh’s professional career presumably over, the Heat now boast both hefty cap space and a major void to be filled.

Enter Aldridge.

A five-time All-Star approaching 32 years of age, he finds himself in a pretty good situation in San Antonio.  After all, he now has arguably the greatest coach ever at his disposal, including access to one of the top 10 players to ever lace them up when needed and a top-four current player in Kawhi Leonard.

Regardless of what the Spurs can and will offer, Miami has now inserted itself back in to the equation when it pertains to major free agents and/or trade targets.

It’s time to dive in to both the pros and cons of a potential Aldridge trade.
