Miami Heat: Breakdown of assets that could move by the trade deadline
By Trey Flynn
The Miami Heat traded Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the Phoenix Suns for Ryan Anderson, but it’s quite possible that Pat Riley could trade some more of Miami’s assets before the NBA trade deadline today at 3 PM Eastern.
With the Miami Heat making that cap-saving deal with the Phoenix Suns, Pat Riley and Micky Arison may have a few more moves up their sleeve to get off the heavy cap that the Heat have before the NBA trade deadline.
As for said assets, who is on the trade block for the Heat? Essentially, everyone not named Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow, and Bam Adebayo are on the block to save cap, unless of course, Riley has a deal in mind to fight for a superstar, because they would have to add a piece of that young trio.

Moreover, the other players that are immovable by the deadline to shed cap are obviously Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. And while the Heat could theoretically move Derrick Jones Jr., I’m not sure anyone wants the high-flyer while he has a knee injury. So with Wade, Haslem, the young trio, and Jones Jr. immovable, I would also like to throw in all of Miami’s future picks, because the Heat front office have bit themselves in the butt by trading draft picks in the past, and if their young trio tells them anything, unless you’re trading for a star, don’t move those picks.
But let’s stick with the idea that Riley is just trying to put cash back into Arison’s pocket and give himself more freedom to make deals in the upcoming offseason, but what is the value of these other players outside of the young trio?
We’ll start with Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic, two of Heat Nation’s favorite players that have had rollercoaster seasons, mostly Hassan though, get off Snap.
