Hassan Whiteside is now infamous for his “we got shooters” video that spread after he was traded by the Miami Heat. He continues to double down.

Before former Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside received his big deal from the team, a deal for four years and $98.4 million dollars, he seemed to block everything in sight. If he didn’t get a hand on it, he tried.

On top of being the one-man block party that he had become and that ultimately landed him the deal, he was a player that did all the dirty work, even hustling up and down the floor like a mad man. After he received his deal from the Miami Heat though, it all started to go downhill.

Across the duration of the three years since he had signed that deal with the Heat, things have seemingly gotten worse and worse. It started with a seeming lack of effort on an every-night basis, until some games where he genuinely looked disinterested in even competing.

This ultimately led to a minutes reduction and eventually to him being way down the rotation at times. In this past season especially, the mumblings were louder than ever that the big man was not happy about a lot of things, but specifically about his role with the team. This eventually led to speculation that perhaps he didn’t want to be in Miami any longer, which is speculation he added to with some of his actions and quotes.

Hassan Whiteside eventually got what he had seemed to be wishing for as he was dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers a little while back as apart of the deal that eventually became the completed sign and trade agreement that saw the Miami Heat land Jimmy Butler. On his way out of the door, what did Whiteside do? Only the most Hassan Whiteside thing ever, but in case you missed it, see for yourself.

In an apparent subtle jab and response to Hassan Whiteside’s above statements, Tyler Herro fired back. After he went 15 for 16 in a three-point shooting drill, he retweeted a clip from the Miami Heat’s official twitter account that captured the actual drill. Hassan Whiteside’s comments were obviously not lost on him.

Well, apparently, Whiteside got wind of this as he doubled down on his notion. This time though, he added a little twist. This twist was supposed to make his statement relevant or correct again is the thinking.

Hassan Whiteside was good for the Heat for a little while. He was just average for another little while until he started to become bad for the Heat.

For his sake and for those in Portland’s sake, let’s just hope he can find a way to be happy about his situation. He should be right, besides, he now has “shooters that can dribble”.
