The Miami Heat will need a big contribution from their bigs this season. One of those potentially big contributors is the refining Bam Adebayo.

Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat is a very mercurial case. While the majority of his basketball career at any level has painted him as a rim runner, run and jump, catch the lob, and/or patrol the paint type of player, he actually has an array of skills that we seemingly haven’t seen in live-action yet.

In an example, his passing skills are one of these traits. While we as Miami Heat fans are aware of his untapped potential and ability in that area, he hasn’t really put in on full display or fully integrated that into his game yet.

We also know about his ability to handle the ball as well as he does for someone his size. That is another skill that we haven’t seen fully flourish either. While he isn’t a point forward by any means, he does have the ability to create his own with the dribble, attack off the dribble, and even help bring it up court if need be, which we hope is hardly the case.

One of Bam’s most intriguing abilities that we haven’t seen fully adapted to his regular-season NBA game yet though is his jump shooting ability. Again, while Miami Heat faithful are aware that he can shoot the jump shot pretty decently, he has yet to fully acclimate that into his everyday game.

That seems to all be changing though. Not only have we documented his workouts with former Miami Heat champion Chris Bosh where they worked on varying maneuvers and ways to get his jump-shot off from the block, but there have been countless displays of video proof this summer where Bam is showing off his range. Here is one of the latest.

Notice the nifty ball-handling by the big man before he pulls up and sinks the long-range shot. If Adebayo can consistently do this, he will become a force.

He can already sky out of the gym to go along with his tremendous strength and power. If he can add the consistent jumper, and especially one from range, the sky is the limit. Hopefully, he can translate everything we have seen this summer into the regular season because if he can, it’s going to be fireworks by the Biscayne Bay.
