The Miami Heat face their next tough matchup of the season on the road in a Wednesday showdown, where they’ll be up against the Rockets in Houston.
After the Miami Heat took care of the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night in a much-needed win after Saturday’s debacle in Philadelphia, they are right back at it on Wednesday in a Thanksgiving Eve showdown against the Houston Rockets. The Heat took the Rockets down earlier this season in Miami in blowout fashion, so you can be sure that the Houston team will be up for this one.
They should be even more P’d off and well-rested as well once both teams step on the floor. This would be due to having been off since Sunday after taking a 14 points loss to in-state rivals, the Dallas Mavericks, who are led by the phenom Luka Doncic.
Looking back to the blowout win from earlier in the season, it was just both teams’ sixth game of the season, but it saw the Miami Heat win 129-100. The Houston Rockets were outscored by the Miami Heat, get that, outscored.
James Harden had a James Harden-esque performance, to a tune of 29 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while his cohort in Russell Westbrook wasn’t so fortunate. Westbrook would finish with just 10 points, four rebounds, and six assists on 3-11 shooting from the field and 1-6 shooting from deep.
The Miami Heat can surely bet that they both won’t be as bad on this go around and the Heat are surely counting on it. They are expecting it so much so that it has been reported about surrounding their actual preparation. Here is a tweet from the Miami Herald’s David Wilson about the last game’s film.
No matter how they had gone about preparing for Wednesday’s game, the Rockets were always going to be extra intense based on the last game’s results. The Miami Heat had better be prepared for such.
