The Miami Heat will start a tough road stretch on Sunday. The first leg of this road-game relay is at the Barclays Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets.

The Miami Heat got a win over the Golden State Warriors on Friday night for a few reasons. For one, they were more in tune with the details, the nuance, and the finer points of what it took to win that ball game. Secondly, they were just the better team between the two of them.

While many have tried to point at the Miami Heat’s schedule as being that of the cupcake variety, the excuses will now go out of the window. On Sunday, the Miami Heat will begin a road trip that sees them take on some of the preeminent teams in the Eastern Conference.

After Brooklyn on Sunday, they will then head to Toronto on Tuesday for a matchup against the Raptors, before heading to Boston on the very next day to face the Celtics on Wednesday. They must first, however, take care of their business in the Barclays Center.

This should be made slightly easier, as the Nets will be without Kyrie Irving again due to the injury that has caused him to miss the last several games. As mentioned, it will only be slightly easier if any though, as Spencer Dinwiddie has stepped right in and filled the void left by Irving admirably.

Over the Nets’ last eight games, the eight games that Dinwiddie has started for Brooklyn, they have achieved a record of 6-2. He has also averaged 24.5 points, three rebounds, and 7.75 assists per contest across those eight games as a starter. Did we mention that he has filled in admirably?

Spencer Dinwiddie and the rest of the Nets will be enough to qualify as a handful for the Miami Heat and they should be looking to get a win with a team like the Heat coming into their building. The Heat should also step on the floor with their antennae raised high as well, knowing that this Nets team is coming off a win against a Boston Celtics team that had just beat them in the game immediately prior. Here is everything else you need to know about the game.
