The Cost To Be The Boss

Coach Spo has been his usual invigorated self throughout the season while crushing the preseason goals we set for him here at AUCH, tinkering, figuring, plotting, and placing players where he best thinks they can be utilized to their maximum potential. One thing you love about Coach Spo is the fact that he seems to be supremely aware of what the fanbase is thinking at the moment surrounding the team and he does an equally impressive job of letting you know that via his comments to the media.

A great example of that is when the fans or pundits think a guy should be seeing more minutes or minutes in general, he seems to always hear and be aware of that chatter, addressing it at some point in the time surrounding the instances of those thoughts or comments. You love that about him and that is on top of the fact that he just flat-out a great basketball coach (still looking at you Dan Dakich)

With all that on the board though, here is what he can do to most help the Miami Heat’s title push across the second half of the season. It is a very interesting one for Coach Spo though, as it is at its core the same issue, with two different dynamics and levels attached.

While at its core, it’s about tidying up the defense, one level is a team-wide issue while the other is a singular player issue that seems to affect the entire team. Coach Spo could most help the Heat by best figuring out when and how to deploy the 2-3 zone defense and by figuring out how to best deploy Duncan Robinson in man defensive sets.
