The Miami Heat have rostered quite the cast of characters over the years. Few have been as dedicated, eccentric, and enjoyable to watch as Josh Richardson.

The Miami Heat have had quite the luck when it comes to the players they’ve had the fortune of bringing into their system. They’ve had numerous Hall of Famers, including some of the very best to ever play the game like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Shaquille O’Neal, and Alonzo Mourning, to name a few.

They have also had the privilege of winning multiple NBA titles while being the absolute toast of the NBA for a several year stretch between 2010-2014. The Miami Heat have been quite the lucky franchise. Although, they say that luck is where opportunity meets preparation.

That is important here because the Miami Heat have also found themselves lucky in other areas as well. One of the areas that the Miami Heat have found a niche in is being able to identify undervalued talent.

They have not only found a niche in identifying this talent, but they have become experts of sorts as well when it comes to developing this talent. One of these talents that the Miami Heat mined from deep in the draft, took under their wing and tutelage and pulled a very good NBA player out of, is none other than former Miami Heat wing and current Philadelphia 76er, Josh Richardson.

The former second-round pick out of Tennesee has not only blossomed into a starting level player in this league, but he is absolutely one of the best two-way guys in the league. Josh Richardson is constantly adding new layers to his story though, both on and off the court.

Former Miami Heat wing, Josh Richardson, recently made headlines for his hair. This time, for his furry four-legged friend with an affinity for following felines.

Recently we detailed how Richardson had undergone a hair transformation. Now it looks like the former Miami Heat two-way terror has gone from the stylist to the school, the training school that is. Here is a post from Richardson’s Instagram account that should better paint the picture.

Josh Richardson is a “full-time father”, as described in his caption. Except for, his child is apparently his dog, which I totally understand (as I currently beg my dog to stop doing something mischievous).

What really got a chuckle out of us was his pooch’s neck attire. Thinking it was apart of some unbeknownst training, we kind of just laughed it off until we got an explanation.

Upon looking deeper into the comments, here is what Richardson said to explain the doggie neck brace. He said this in response to Georges Niang, as the Utah Jazz forward had asked about the neck garment in the comments, “neck brace bro, he hurt himself chasing a cat 2 days ago lol”.

What a story. It’s appropriate though for the owner, as J-Rich and his canine play the game the same way, with reckless abandon.

We like that in our Miami Heat players and pooches. That means 100 percent effort at all times.

Next. Jimmy Butler would love NBA season to jump right into Playoffs. dark

Get better doggie and we look forward to seeing you chasing cats again in no time. Just like we look forward to knocking off your father’s new team every time we see them on the court.
