If the Miami Heat end up trading one of their young shooting guards in a package for a third star, they can draft a future cornerstone in Jahmi’us Ramsey.

Coming off of his freshman season with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, shooting guard Jahmi’us Ramsey is bound for the NBA; predictably in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft.

In his lone season at college Ramsey posted 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. This coming all while putting up an impressive 44/42/64 shooting split over the 27-game span.

For the Miami Heat selecting Ramsey would come in the aftermath of having pulled off a blockbuster trade for a third star. They’ve been tied to names like Bradley Beal, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Jrue Holiday ever since Jimmy Butler touched down in South Beach.

From Tyler Herro to Duncan Robinson, Miami’s top trade assets start at shooting guard. If they’re going to abandon either of the two marksman they’ll want to target a replacement in the draft.

Why not Ramsey, who knocked down 60-of-141 attempts from deep this season? Most mock drafts have him falling in the late side of the first-round, making him an ideal target for the Heat.

Jahmi’us Ramsey has drawn comparisons to the Denver Nuggets’ Gary Harris. He’s got the capabilities to be an impact two-way guard at the NBA level. Nonetheless, he’s a name to keep an eye on for Pat Riley and the Miami Heat in this 2020 NBA Draft.
