Miami Heat flamethrower, Duncan Robinson, has been torching the league all season. Why are some just coming around to the three-point shooting savant?

The Miami Heat have long been praised for their ability to find players in the darndest places. If you take a look at Hassan Whiteside, they found him shooting baskets at his local YMCA after being out of the NBA for two years or so.

While you can now find him in the Orlando bubble with the Portland Trail Blazers, probably somewhere being tested if what he says is true, he wouldn’t be there if it weren’t for the Miami Heat and their ability to see raw talent.

You can also look at a guy like Derrick Jones Jr. Seemingly thrown away by the Phoenix Suns, the Miami Heat have proceeded to take Jones Jr. and help him turn into the guy that is looking at a very sizeable pay raise come next year, so much so, that the Miami Heat may not even be able to afford to keep him.

Talk about irony, but those are the breaks and it still takes nothing away from them being able to see that he was talented and deploy him the right way. They aren’t the only successful reclamation, reupholstering, or recovery from the mine projects that Miami Heat have taken on though.

While there are quite a few more than can be mentioned here, they found one gem recently that is proving that he is worth his weight in any raw material you want to compare him with. That could be gold, diamonds, and soon, NBA contract equity. This player is the sharpshooting Duncan Robinson.

While his contract isn’t the real topic of concern here today, his national notoriety or recognition is. It seems as though as we approach the NBA restart, people are just starting to get hip to what it is that Robinson does. Not only what he does, as in the shoot the cover off the ball, but how well he does it.

Believe us, he does it really well. What bothers us is that others are just seeming to get aboard the Duncan Robinson train and we have been begging you to pay attention for months. Well, us and other educated people who cover the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat found an elite shooter in Duncan Robinson. While we have told you all for months, thanks for finally showing up to the party.

We told you how we thought he was arguably the best shooter in the league right now. We told you that this was his breakout year some time ago.

We even went as far as asking you to stop criticizing his defense, with logical and viable explanation to back it up. Again, whatever the reasons may be for his sudden recognition, it’s not because we didn’t try to tell you months ago.

Again, what really has me tickled at the moment is how people are just now jumping aboard the train. Although not extremely high, Bleacher Report ranked him in their top 100 players. At number 97 overall, he was ranked higher than former Miami Heat wing Josh Richardson, current Heat sixth man extraordinaire Goran Dragic (a travesty that we will touch on), New York Knicks scoring machine Julius Randles, and Jimmy Butler’s sworn mortal enemy, T.J. Warren.

We can also look around our own NBA network here at FanSided and see some guilty of this late-blooming action. Here’s what we mean.

In this piece where they layout “5 sleepers waiting to break out in NBA’s Orlando restart”, they include Duncan Robinson. While cute and appreciated, they are late to the table as well. I know they are paying attention over there, so we will chalk this one up as an innocent mistake.

The fact of the matter is this, he has already broken out! He has been breaking out and breaking the hearts of opposing players, defenses, and coaches all year. The guy is shooting nearly 45 percent on almost nine attempts from deep per game!

Next. Moving Duncan Robinson for Bradley Beal a moot point. dark

Ok, we are calm now. However, we just had to say something.

Why, might you ask? Because the train pulled out of the station months ago and everyone is just trying to get aboard. Next time, just listen to us, why don’t you?
