Goran Dragic missed a large part of the NBA Finals, which undoubtedly hurt the Miami Heat but if he can mimic last season’s performance, they’ll have a good chance to go back.

Again, while I won’t say they win with those two fully healthy and in the lineup, it does make a world of difference facing a Heat team without their engine in Adebayo, who makes everything go and their heater core to stay with the car references, the guy that heats up the fastest and often times spurs the rest of the team on a run.

Those are, again, just the facts. While Adebayo’s recent deal screams just how key he is to this team, many out there might not realize how important Dragic was to this team last season and still is moving forward.

Let’s take this for example. When you look at things from a perspective of efficiency over performance, that ratio means that Dragic arguably had the best season of his career last year.

Yes, he’s had seasons with higher averages, but he hasn’t had seasons with as high of averages as efficiently as he did. Follow me here, as it gets a bit confounding if you let it.

His per-minute totals for this season were some of, if not the best, of his career and when you throw in the fact that he almost raised his three-point volume by 50 percent when compared to his highest volume season prior to this one while still shooting around 37 percent from deep, it’s unfair to say that this wasn’t at least one of his best of his career. That leads to his bold prediction.
