The Miami Heat haven’t found a complete rhythm yet on the floor. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

The Miami Heat have gotten off to a less than stellar start to their latest season. While last season’s deep playoff run has a bit to do with that, some of that has everything to do with things that are strictly tied to this season.

For about two seasons now, the Miami Heat have been at the very top of the rumor conversation, as far as potential acquisitions or free agent targets. Things were no different heading into this season.

At the top of this season, however, the guy wasn’t a free agent but a potential trade target. We all remember the James Harden rumors, a situation that has yet to officially be sorted out but one that obviously took a toll on the guys on the other side who could have possibly been shipped out for him and potentially still could be.

Well, we don’t have to assume anymore if that is or was the case. In a recent episode of J.J. Redick’s The Old Man & the Three Podcast, Heat sharpshooter Duncan Robinson opened up about how he, Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson’s mom felt about the swirling rumors.

Here is a clip of the episode. It comes via the Twitter account of 790 The Ticket’s Brendan Tobin.

Basically, he spoke about how the rumors and talks have impacted them. Perhaps they haven’t been able to freely just go play ball?

The Miami Heat are struggling a bit and still in the rumor mill mix. Is anyone safe?

While those rumors were more forceful to begin the year, they have calmed a bit. The pair can’t be totally calm about it all though, with the rumors still continuing to float and the Miami Heat struggling a bit out of the gates.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think the Miami Heat make a move that potentially requires them to move both of Duncan and Tyler. I struggle to actually believe that they would do a deal that requires them to give up either of them, if we’re being honest.

They have other assets, be that draft picks, be that Kendrick Nunn, or otherwise. People can say what they want, however, Kendrick Nunn does have value.

He may not have as much as Duncan or Tyler at the moment, but there is value there and Pat Riley can swing a package around him if need be. I believe that will have to be the case, as both Robinson and Herro are too important to what the Heat want to do.

The trade deadline is the only thing that will bring complete peace and security at this point, but that is a ways off. Let’s hope that they can get some sort of confirmation, finality, or at least, peace of mind, in the next few weeks though.

We will need them at their best to try and make a move in the Eastern Conference. At 4-4, the Heat aren’t out of it, but they need to start being better.

Having a focused Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro should go a long way towards that.
