The Miami Heat face off against the new look Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. They aren’t the best defensive team in the world, practically non-existent on that side at times, but they can score 125 on you with their eyes closed.

That’s fine though, that just means the Miami Heat will have to play defense. We mean good defense, as even if they can’t stop you, they can outscore you if you can’t stop them.

That leads us here though. This game will really be a good test for Miami on a few fronts.

The Miami Heat will be tested in a few ways in their Saturday matchup with Brooklyn.

To the one we just mentioned, the Heat have been defensively challenged all year. What better way than to continue trying to sharpen that knife than going up against one of the most offensively potent trios that the league has ever seen.

The thing about this matchup is this. If you can find success defensively against a team that features Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, there is no excuse why you can’t find success against any other team on that side of the ball.

The second aspect of this test really revolves around how good of a team the Miami Heat are. Listen, it doesn’t work this way, but we can make a comparison.

The Cleveland Cavaliers just beat this team twice in a row. The Miami Heat should be able to have at least an equal amount of success against them, right?

Perhaps they split, as the first Cleveland game was a toss up of the highest variety, where Brooklyn was supposed to win until the Cavaliers and Collin Sexton decided to hit big shots in the end. Perhaps the Miami Heat can get both of the games, but based on what just happened between Brooklyn and Cleveland, they should at least get one.

If the Miami Heat can’t get one, but Cleveland got two against this Brooklyn team, that isn’t great for our Heat. This isn’t saying that Cleveland is awful, it is saying that we should be better than they are though.

Lastly, the Miami Heat can do themselves a world of justice in the confidence department if they can get a win against this Brooklyn team off of a back to back. Ball players are ball players, believe me, meaning that when you do it, you can play ball all the time.

What that is to say is that though back to backs aren’t as huge as some like to think with ballers, it is still a back to back. If they can get a win on Saturday, specifically, after losing to Toronto on Friday night, that would really help to show that this specific iteration of the Miami Heat have that never quit attitude that we love and have been accustomed to seeing from our team.

Listen, I really just can’t wait until the game. I want to see it.

I am eager for our Heat to get back on the floor after another defeat. Lastly, I just want to see how we matchup against the team that may be the toast of the East when it’s all said and done.

This is why the Brooklyn game on Saturday is one that will really test the Miami Heat.
