The Miami Heat are a team that is built on the backs of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. While Jimmy Butler is the vocal leader, the heart, the grit, the will, an occasional offensive outburst, and defense like you’ve never seen before at times, Bam gets it done with a little bit of everything.

Mainly though for the Miami Heat, Bam Adebayo is their playmaker on offense and their last line of defense on the other side. He is typically the player getting other guys open or cleaning up a sloppy defensive assignment by his teammate.

That’s all great. Wonderful, actually.

We absolutely love what Bam does on the floor and the Miami Heat need it all. Here’s the thing though.

The Miami Heat also need more from Bam. Follow us here.

The Miami Heat need a more aggressive Bam Adebayo than they are typically getting.

The Miami Heat are struggling right now and mightily. While the entirety of the team could definitely stand to play better, Bam could do more as well.

Specifically here, we mean that he could actually and simply just take more shots. He often overpasses, if you know what we mean.

There was one sequence early in the last game against the Washington Wizards where he had Bradley Beal attempting to guard him in the post area. On his hip, Adebayo got the ball and proceeded to think.

At that moment and in that position, with Beal on your back like that, that is the moment to take it right at the smaller guy. Even outside of the obvious mismatch though, Bam Adebayo passes up a plenty of really good opportunities to go get his own offense.

It’s not as if it is a luxury for the Miami Heat right now. They absolutely need him to be that guy.

They need him to be that guy from the Brooklyn Nets game. That would be one of the best and quickest ways to turn this whole thing around.

If they keep going as they are, it might end up being the only way. Before we get to that point though, why not turn it on to prevent it?

That’s why, we need a more aggressive Bam Adebayo, as aggressive as he was the night he went 42 points, five rebounds, and nine assists on Brookyn.

Yea, that night.
