The Miami Heat needed a win again on Thursday night in the worst way. There’s no better opponent for them this season to get one against than the Sacramento Kings.

That’s just what they did on Thursday night. In fact, not only did they get the win against Sacramento, but they did so in quite a fashion.

The Miami Heat got triple doubles from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in their win over Sacramento.

The Miami Heat came out on a mission. They never trailed in the game, leading from wire to wire and from opening tip to closing buzzer.

This was the type of game that they needed to have after dropping a double digit lead to lose to Golden State on Wednesday and after losing to a Clippers team without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard a few days before that. They responded the way they needed to on Thursday.

The triple doubles from Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler were just the cherries on top of what was a needed bounce back game for them and us as fans. Jimmy Butler’s made that his third in three straight games, something that’s never been done in Miami Heat history.

On top of all of that though, there was another storyline percolating in this game. The Miami Heat were supposedly interested in trading for Nemanja Bjelica of the Kings, according to some of the chatter out there, but Kelly Olynyk had obviously heard the rumors too.

Not to mention the fact that he put up a clunker on Wednesday night, KO came out on Thursday with everything he had. He finished his bunnies, he dunked the ball several times, and he hit some open shots.

He always works hard and that wasn’t lost Thursday night either. They won’t be dealing for Bjelica if he was supposed to be an upgrade over the guy that currently starts there, because as I already knew, he outplayed him on Thursday.

The Miami Heat have another tough game on the west coast Saturday night. They will take on a Lakers squad that just took a tough defeat to the Nets, so you know they’ll be ready.

This was a good win, a needed one, but doesn’t right the ship… at all. They need to get some rest and get ready to keep chipping away at this thing, one game at a time.
