The Miami Heat made major alterations to their roster at the NBA’s Trade Deadline and if you take into account the roster when it’s at it’s potential fullest strength, then they should have done enough to propel themselves towards another run towards a Conference and NBA Finals.

While that is the case, that doesn’t mean that they should be done making adjustments to their team and roster. While they added some firepower, a guy who can play the point guard for them, help along the wing, and essentially, a replacement for Kelly Olynyk in Nemanja Bjelica, they didn’t manage to land themselves another quality big guy to add to the rotation.

Thought to be leaders in the clubhouse to land LaMarcus Aldridge once he was paid to leave San Antonio, he wound up signing with the Brooklyn Nets. That, unfortunately, still leaves the Miami Heat with a need and a hole to fill.

Luckily for them and not that this is anything new, Boogie Cousins is still available. He’s been available for some time, however, no one has made the call, it seems, since he was waived by Houston.

While that does frighten you a bit, there’s actually no telling why he hasn’t been signed to a team and you have to do your due diligence if you are the decision maker for a team to know for one’s self. While that’s one side, there are good things to consider if you were to make that move.

Here are three reasons why DeMarcus Cousins should absolutely still be on the Miami Heat’s radar.
