The Miami Heat haven’t been able to figure things out across their last several games. As they headed out on the road, they were able to get a win in the first game that they played away from American Airlines Arena on this trip.

Beating the Portland Trail Blazers, the Heat looked as though they had their defense locked in to compete on this road trip. Though, it wasn’t their defense that got them beat against Denver and Phoenix, as much as it was their lack of being able to score.

Then, on Friday, it was time for the Heat to face the Minnesota Timberwolves. Certainly, they would be able to beat the Timberwolves, right?

Certainly, the Miami Heat would beat a team that was challenging for worst record in the league? That was the thought heading into the game.

The Miami Heat needed to close the road trip strong and what better way than a game against one of the league’s worst, right?

They were wrong. Everyone was all wrong.

If you had the Miami Heat winning the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, everyone across the world presumably, then that’s a bet that was lost. The Miami Heat were once again the victims of their own circumstances.

They couldn’t score the ball! Not to outdo themselves by too much from the second period of the Phoenix game, the Miami Heat proceeded to score just 24 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second period, while the T-Wolves put up 35.

The Miami Heat wanted to memorialize the Phoenix second quarter to a “T” in the fourth quarter, apparently. They, again, allowed themselves to have, just, an 18 point period.

You can’t win in the NBA like that. Not in today’s NBA, especially.

The thing coming into this game and was written here, was that though the Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t good, they can score the ball. If the Heat didn’t come in to play with the same effort as they would against any other winning team, they could get beat.

That’s exactly what happened. This is low.

This, though, isn’t doomsday, yet. Though the season doesn’t have long to go, the Heat still have time to improve.

Next. Jimmy Butler should be top candidate for DPOY, but he won’t be. dark

Also, even with their luck on this last road trip, they’ll still be a load to deal with in any postseason scenario. Trust, they’ll get there, one way or another.

And that’s on… Jimmy Butler.
