The Miami Heat are flying high right now, especially Bam Adebayo! He hit the shot to seal the deal in their latest win.

Coming off of that good victory for them, especially considering the unfortunate circumstance that was the end of their road trip, the team should be ready and focused for their next contest. While Jimmy Butler didn’t suit up against the Brooklyn Nets, it will be interesting to see just how much time he misses before getting back on the court.

Even with Jimmy out though, the Miami Heat were able to get the job done. While Bam had a huge part in it all, literally closing the door, he wasn’t the only Miami Heat big man to do work on Sunday.

The Miami Heat needed help in their big man rotation and Dewayne Dedmon was the perfect answer.

One of the Miami Heat’s latest pickups got his first real big dose of live game action against Brooklyn and needless to say, it was a thing of beauty. Dewayne Dedmon made his season debut for Miami against the Denver Nuggets in the Heat’s contest immediately prior to their Friday night loss to Minnesota.

While he didn’t see the floor against the T-Wolves, he would see the floor against the Nets and a lot of it. Well, he didn’t see a ton, but his impact was immense.

In only 15 minutes of action against the team from Brooklyn, Dedmon would finish with 10 huge. points and 10 huge rebounds. He did so while going 8-8 from the free throw line as well.

Not only did he absolutely just do the work while he was in the game, grabbing the boards and giving the effort to get himself to the line but when he got there, he showed you that you could depend on him by nailing all of his opportunities.

The Miami Heat couldn’t have asked for anything more from their backup big on Sunday and if this is what he’s going to do moving forward, relative to the opportunity afforded, then this will work out perfectly for both sides. While you could see what he was capable of against the Nuggets, though in short time and in a blowout game, he still did some things against Jokic.

On Sunday though, he showed exactly what he can offer the Heat during regular moments and situations. He was and looks to be, worth his weight in gold to the Miami Heat.
