The Miami Heat could lose the bidding war here, as the New York Knicks have a ton of money to spend this offseason.

The New York Knicks are coming off of an impressive season. They overachieved and made the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

They are projected to have more cap space than any other team this offseason. This means they’ll have a lot of money to throw around at any and all free agents.

While Derrick Rose is their best point guard, his role is primarily that of a sixth man. He only started in six of the 40 games he played with the Knicks last year, including the playoffs.

Elfrid Payton started at the one for the Knicks, but he will be a free agent this offseason. Nunn could be a great option to replace him as the starting point guard in New York.

While the Knicks prioritize defense, an influx of shot creation could be a big help. Putting more shooting around star player Julius Randle would be super useful.

Nunn’s efficient three-point shooting would fit in perfectly as well. The Knicks were one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league last year.

As the Knicks transition into a win-now mindset, adding talent should be their top priority. While Nunn might not be the first player they target this offseason, he could certainly be on their list.
