Keys for the Miami Heat to secure home-court advantage: Quality minutes from role players

This may seem like an odd key, but the play of Miami’s role players will have a huge impact on their regular-season record. As important as stars are in the playoffs, teams need depth in order to succeed in the regular season.

Players such as Tyler Herro and Markieff Morris playing well is one thing, but Miami needs more than seven players to work with. They might have to go 12 players deep at times.

Luckily for them, they have some players who have the potential to break out this year. Players like Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and Omer Yurtseven could all be solid for the Heat this year.

Strus will be a super important piece for the Heat. His shooting will help take some of the pressure off of Robinson, while also giving Miami another weapon to work with behind the three-point arc.

Vincent is going to have to take on some of the backup point guard duties. He says that he is ready for it, but he’ll have to prove himself once the regular season starts.

Lastly, Yurtseven could end up playing significant minutes alongside Adebayo and Dedmon in the center rotation. He has played well in Summer League, but he has to do it in NBA games now.

In order to have a great regular season, the Miami Heat have to get contributions from everyone. Hopefully, their role players can step up to the plate.
