The Miami Heat have 14 players on the roster right now. While they don’t necessarily need to add anyone else, they are still allowed to sign one more player.

There have been some rumors that they could look to add some youth at that position. Players such as Marcus Garrett and Micah Potter have been mentioned.

However, it might be smarter to add a veteran to the roster and simply use their two-way spots to sign young players. This would give them one more player they know can step up if need be.

While a lot of the best veterans have been snapped up in free agency there are still some decent options out there. Who are the five best options left on the market for Miami to sign?

Veteran NBA free agents the Miami Heat should target: JJ Redick

This idea has been brought up multiple times, but JJ Redick would be a great player for Miami to target. Not only could he provide quality bench minutes, but he would also be a perfect mentor.

The Miami Heat have two elite shooters in Duncan Robinson and Max Strus. Who better to learn from than one of the best catch-and-shoot players of all time?

Redick had a down year last season, but before that was one of the most consistent players in the NBA. He was putting up at least 15 points per game for the better part of the last decade.

Having his shooting off the bench would be great for the Heat, and it would give them another dependable option to turn to. The fit just makes perfect sense for both sides.
