Miami Heat: With The New Pieces They Brought In, They Should Be

After the Bucks traded for Tucker amidst their 2021 NBA title-run, over 90 percent of his field-goal attempts were taken from corner-shots. Transitioning from one dominant interior scoring team in Milwaukee to another in Miami, this is very similar concept for the 10-year journeyman.

As Tucker will largely compliment Miami as a physical defender, his offensive potential doesn’t extend much further than a hustle rebounder and a serviceable three-point option.

Many teams allowed Tucker to take perimeter shots as a last resort, but in contribution to the Bucks’ title run, he made them when they counted.

For Miami’s sake of contending, they’ll need a substantial amount of his qualities and as a shooter especially.

As they’ve recently seemed to be, the Heat are a reliant perimeter shooting team and their top-three stars in Butler, Adebayo, and Lowry will all command defensive attention.

It’ll be up to whoever receives that open look to convert and hopefully, Miami can see an improvement from a spot where the Heat organization’s most clutch playoff shot came from — several years back, of course.
