Miami Heat: Tyler Herro Seems Like He’s A Guy With A Purpose
The Miami Heat got their season underway on Monday night, sort of, tipping off their preseason group of games. Facing the Atlanta Hawks, the game would prove to be no sweat for the new-look Miami squad and it was apparent from the very beginning.
Though without Jimmy Butler, the rest of the starting unit, which consisted of Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, P.J. Tucker, and Tyler Herro on this night, did plenty and more than enough to secure the deal and impress along the way. Speaking of impress though, Tyler Herro did more than a bit of that.
Pacing the the game in minutes played, he was on fire from the very beginning. Showcasing the game that made him a household name early in his Miami Heat career, Boy Wonder got it done from wherever he was on the floor on Monday.
Basically and as indicative by everything he had to say during the offseason, he is on a mission. It was not only evident in the most important aspect, his play, but in the clarifying details of the postgame interviews.
Just a preseason game, so, technically, not meaning anything, Herro knew that he still has a ton to prove and a long way to go.
The Miami Heat need the very best of Tyler Herro to go as far as they can this season. If Monday night against Atlanta is any indication, they are about to get it.
If getting off to a great start means anything though, this was a great warmup before walking up to the starting line that is the regular season.
It’s all about perspective though in most things, at least, that’s what’s said. If that is the case, then this next tidbit from Herro also says a ton about where he is right now.
That seems to be huge for him and not just at this point or moving forward. Last season and not unlike a ton of other guys throughout the history of the NBA or professional sports, Tyler Herro had his name come up in possible scenarios to be moved.
You could see those talks impacting the play of, both, he and Duncan Robinson. Once those talks had settled and they were still there, via the passing of the NBA Trade Deadline, both started to play free again and success returned from that.
Again though, it can’t be overstated, this is just the preseason. So, you can’t get too high or too low based on anything that’s been seen or is to be seen in these preliminary games.
However, if you need something to hang on too or to grasp for optimism about his future, you have it. Based on his play in the Heat’s first preseason foray and what he had to say afterwards, Tyler Herro seems like a guy with a purpose to fulfill.
