Miami Heat players earning a rotation spot this preseason: Max Strus

If you have been watching Miami Heat preseason basketball, then you know just how great Max Strus has looked. His three-point shooting is approaching elite level already.

Strus did have one bad game vs. the Rockets, but he played so well in the other two that it doesn’t matter. With the way he has been performing, he could play a huge role for the Heat.

After an elite Summer League performance, Strus has not slowed down at all this preseason. His numbers are absolutely amazing thus far.

He is averaging 15.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. The real impressive stats, however, are his shooting splits, as he is shooting 45.5% from the field and 45.8% from three-point range.

The Miami Heat already have an elite shooter in the starting lineup in Duncan Robinson. Now they have an opportunity to bring one off the bench as well.

There’s no reason that Strus can’t take on an identical role to the one Robinson has for the Heat. The only difference is that he is a bit shorter, but he makes up for that with some sneaky athleticism.

His play thus far in the preseason has shown that he deserves a regular spot in the rotation. The Miami Heat struck gold when they brought him on board.
