Miami Heat: They Get A Little Payback In Rout Over Bucks, 137-95.
The Miami Heat acted nonchalant about their forthcoming matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks to open their season, well, at least that’s the way they had seemed leading up to the opening matchup for them. “For them”, being the operative term here, as the Bucks had opened their season with an impressive defeat over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.
That was the end of their impressive start though. When you think about what happened to them on Thursday night, only a few words come to mind… venison, food, destruction.
The Miami Heat ran the Milwaukee Bucks out of the gym and it started from the very beginning. From the tip-off, the Miami Heat were just more intense and played with more intent.
They began the game on a run, getting out to a 22-3 lead, before the Bucks would score their fourth point at the four and a half minute mark of the first period. That period would finish, 40-17, in favor of the Miami Heat.
The Miami Heat certainly remembered how last season ended against the Bucks. At least, it sure looked like it as they dominated Milwaukee in their opener.
Yes, the Miami Heat opened their season with a 40 point first period and against the reigning defending champions, no less. The rest of the game would prove to be much of the same.
Though the Miami Heat took their foot off of the gas at one point early, allowing their lead to be cut to 15, Coach Spo called a timeout and quickly got them back together. They would go on to continue dominating this game, winning it in easy fashion.
Some will say that the Bucks were without Jrue Holiday and that may be true, ever so slightly. Even still though, this is likely their fate, as the Heat were the better team and Jrue Holiday isn’t overcome a 42 point victory good alone, at least.
Bam continued to stay aggressive, finishing with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and one assist. Tyler Herro would keep up his hot play, finishing the game with 27 points, six boards, and five dimes of his own, all off the pine, might it be added.
Jimmy Butler finished with 21, four, and six and though Lowry only finished with five points and six assists, his impact was still massive. This was a great showing for the Miami Heat.
If they play like this and especially when talking Bam and Tyler, their ceiling is the sky. Yes, that certainly means NBA Title talk.
