Miami Heat: Dewayne Dedmon Continues Doing The Dirty Work
The Miami Heat are known for the kinds of guys that they bring in. For one, they have a certain type of fellow that they attract and that they are attracted to.
For one, the guys that come to Miami, do so to win. At least, that’s a huge part of what gets them there.
That’s, at least, in most circumstances. A huge part of that is as The Godfather of the NBA, Pat Riley, has alluded to many times, the Miami Heat don’t rebuild, they retool.
When it comes to the types of guys that they like to put on the roster when it comes to assembling their bunch, year in and year out, well, that takes a special kind of gent as well. Here is what Udonis Haslem thinks it takes, in a brief synopsis.
"We don’t want no mental midgets and we don’t need energy vampires. We do that before we even start training camp."
Well, the next guy of mention isn’t short, on the “mental” side or literally, and neither is he an “energy vampire”, someone who drains the energy out of things.
The Miami Heat love guys that love doing the dirty work. Well, it’s a lot of love to go around, because you should be loving the way Dewayne Dedmon is doing it.
This next guy is, in fact, is the compete opposite of all of that.
That’s Dewayne Dedmon and he’s a giant. That’s physically and when it comes to the energy he gives, exudes, and most certainly, plays with.
While he has been that way since coming on in the midst of last season, he has certainly gotten off to a good start this year. In fact, he’s been one of the top reserves for Coach Spoelstra and is proving him correct on it.
As indicated in the above clip from the Miami Heat’s official Twitter account, Dedmon had a great game off the bench against Brooklyn, almost putting up a double-double in that capacity. Even more amazing and of the nine boards he grabbed, six of them were of the offensive variety.
That’s called hard work translating to easy looks and baskets for yourself and your team. That’s the stuff you love to see from anybody and especially your backup bigs, where one of his main jobs is to always bring the hustle, grit, physicality, energy, and his sheer size.
Highlighting a, potential, fatal flaw in the Brooklyn team during the matchup, the physciality inside was too much to handle and The Ded-Man had a ton do with it. Along with all else that’s been going well for the Miami Heat this season, if he can keep up with this level of play or higher, their chances of doing something special only rise with his it.
