The Miami Heat came into Thursday night’s contest against the Brooklyn Nets on the backside of a back-to-back set and coming off what was one of their worst defeats of the entire season. Though the Brooklyn Nets wouldn’t be at full strength, missing Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons still, they would get Kevin Durant back into the lineup.

The same couldn’t be said for the Miami Heat. They would still be without Kyle Lowry, while also being down P.J. Tucker and Jimmy Butler on the second night of a consecutive pair of games.

It seemed as if though instantly, the Brooklyn Nets would run away with this game, jumping out to a huge first-quarter lead and on a scoring Blitz. Getting out to by as much as 15-17 points at one point in the second period, the Miami Heat would proceed to make their comeback as the second period came to a close.

The first half would finish at a score of 60-67 in the Nets’ favor. As the third period went on, the Miami Heat would find a way to take the lead and maintain it until the very end.

The Miami Heat were down big early to Brooklyn, as the Nets were scorching. But the Heat kept fighting, Brooklyn cooled down, and then Miami stole one.

Though there were still some of the same late-game issues present that helped rob them of the win on Wednesday night, they were able to close the game on Thursday night behind strong performances from Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.

Bam would finish with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, while Tyler Herro would finish with 27 points, four rebounds, and eight dimes of his own.

Tyler Herro’s scoring continues to impress, of course, but his playmaking is really beginning to blossom. Bam Adebayo has you permanently thinking you can trust his aggression as well, though he feasts on Brooklyn for some reason.

The tests keep coming for the Miami Heat, as they face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. With a new look Philly team on tap, James Harden, Joel Embiid, and the rest of the crew, it should be a fun matchup.

Hopefully, the Miami Heat can get some of their main cogs back into the mix. Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, and P.J. Tucker would be nice pieces to have for that one.
