The Miami Heat are not totally out of the water yet, as the Eastern Conference continues to tighten up in what is to be the final stretch of the NBA season. Things are really ratcheting up, as every game matters, and teams start to do their final jockeying for playoff seeding.

The Miami Heat still sit at the top of the NBA’s Eastern Conference though, which is great. However, teams like Milwaukee and Philadelphia are hot on their trails, both sitting with just a 2.5 game deficit on the top seed in the conference.

While the Miami Heat’s stellar play, immense skills, and great coaching have played a huge part in them becoming the team that they have managed to become this season, there is something else that is worth mentioning.

This team’s comradery, their love for one another, and the pure joy that they seem have to play for one another helps take them a long way too.

There is no other situation on this team that is more indicative of such a fact than the relationship that has been developed by the team’s best player, Jimmy Butler, and one of their best deep shooters, Max Strus.

The Miami Heat are a highly-skilled, hard-working, well-coached team. However, what takes them over the top is the love they have for one another.

The Middle Finger Bros, it has become a nightly pre-game ritual for these two to flip each other the bird before the game starts. As Butler slaps fives with all of his teammates before tip-off, he and Strus show each other a different type of love in those moments, giving each other the middle finger.

It’s absolutely an act of endearment and shows you just how much Jimmy really likes his teammate in Strus.

Well, there’s that and the fact that even with all of the stuff you’ve ever heard about him—his intensity, his intent, his brash, and sometimes, unforgiving mentality on winning or working hard, Jimmy Butler is a funny, fun-loving, and entertaining guy.

Other than the Strus thing, there is also a little something else in the above clip of the two. Jimmy Butler literally says “we win without Caleb”.

That may be a little quip at all the notions in recent weeks about the team performing more optimally without Jimmy Butler on the floor, due to his ineptness from range.

However, if you know what you are looking at, you know that his ability to stabilize the team with tough two-point makes and free throws is as or more valuable to this bunch than the spacing that he doesn’t necessarily provide.

Again though, what it all says is that, not only, can Jimmy Butler take a joke, but he can make one too. Even if he is, somewhat, the butt of it.
