The Miami Heat got a much-needed win on Monday night over a team that they most certainly should have beaten. Though what you really needed to see from them is how bad they could beat a lowly Sacramento Kings team, one without their two best players going in De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, you expected them to do just what they did.

Coming out like a team on a mission, the game started with the Miami Heat and ended that way too. They would win the game going away, to a tune of 123-100.

They would dominate in quite a few facets of the game, something you hadn’t seen from the Heat in, say, four games or so. The Miami Heat shot 47 percent from three (19-40), outrebounded Sacramento by a ton (48-32), and even won the points in the paint battle by 10.

The Miami Heat got back on track Monday, sort of, dominating the Kings from wire to wire. While they should have there, the Celtics are the real barometer.

It was a good night for Miami, as they needed to get a victory to see themselves get off the snide. And while again, you needed to see the Heat come out and proverbially get up off the mat after being hit with what feels like four slobber-knockers on last week, this Kings game was just a cool little win.

They did what they were supposed to do. The real barometer, the test to see where the Miami Heat really are after a tumultuous last week, comes on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.

A resurgent Celtics team based on their start to the year, you couldn’t tell that they were bad to begin the season based on how they’ve played the Heat this year. Playing Miami twice before they see each other in a day or so, the Boston Celtics are beating Miami by about 23 points per game on average this season in their matchups.

While neither of them were pretty, the last matchup was so gruesome that it has only been called the Boston Massacre around these parts.

So, again, the Miami Heat took care of their business on Monday and that’s much appreciated, however, you won’t know where they truly stand until they take the floor in Beantown on Wednesday.
