Miami Heat: Grading Duncan Robinson’s 2021-22 Season

Duncan got off to a very slow start at the beginning of the season, but both the Heat’s fans and staff knew that he would turn it around and catch fire. This was the narrative nearly all season.

Duncan Robinson’s Offensive Grade: D

“Duncan will turn it around. He can’t keep missing like this.”

Yet, at least once a week, the box score would show zero made threes.

These weren’t necessarily outlandish takes but from game to game, it seemed as if Heat fans were, not only, struggling to convince others that he’d break the cold streak but were struggling to convince themselves as well.

Obviously, Duncan’s stats regressed and they may not seem that terrible, it’s the one-year drop-off that is extremely concerning though. Last year, he averaged 13 points on 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from three, which was a good year considering the historical one he was having in the 2019-20 season.

This year though, he averaged 10 points on 39 percent from the field and on a frustratingly regressed 37 percent from three.
