The Miami Heat are currently in the business of landing another star-level player, but that doesn’t mean that they are sleeping on their laurels, at all. With that, continuing to flesh out and build out their team is a priority.

While the Kevin Durants and Donovan Mitchells of the world are the targets that could potentially differentiate the Heat from a title or not, the other guys around them will be just as important. With that, a guy that plays with the fire, the passion, the grit, the toughness, and the defensive intensity that the Miami Heat yearn for in their guys has now been linked to them.

Per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Miami Heat are one of three main teams interested in Patrick Beverley. To go along with the Lakers and the Houston Rockets 2.0, we mean Philadelphia 76ers, Miami seems interested in bringing in the feisty point guard.

Here is what Fischer specifically had to say on the topic.

The Miami Heat are busy chasing whales, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t smaller fish to fry. One of those smaller catches could be Patrick Beverley.

"Patrick Beverley also appears to be a strong trade candidate. The former Timberwolves point guard has drawn interest from the Lakers and Heat, sources told B/R.Philadelphia had been mentioned as a potential Beverley suitor, with his past Houston experience and the Sixers’ obvious deep Rockets connections, but it seems unlikely that Beverley would now be Philadelphia-bound after the team acquired De’Anthony Melton on draft night."

Though it seems like the Miami Heat might not have a need for another smaller guard, with Gabe Vincent, Kyle Lowry, and Tyler Herro in tow, however, Beverly has a special set of skills that you can’t teach. The guy really is an elite defensive player with a motor that just won’t quit.

The intangibles that he offers a team are worth mentioning too. When discussing a team with the never say quit attitude like the Miami Heat, Patrick Beverley fits right in that mold.

The guy never believes he should lose and never thinks that he doesn’t have a chance to turn the tide. You also love that he plays until the final whistle is blown.

Who knows what will happen on that front though, as the Miami Heat have other things to focus on. However, if they are able to land Patrick Beverley, it would certainly be a welcomed addition to a Heat team that would know exactly what to do with his electric brand of defensive pestering.
