The Miami Heat are among the best in the business when it comes to developing talent. Around the entire world of sports, not just confined to the world of the NBA, the Miami Heat know how to spot, secure, and develop undervalued talent.

Their roster is full of them. Securing what may be another one to the roster last season via the usage of a two-way contract, Marcus Garrett’s season was cut short by injury.

The big guard and defensive specialist out of Kansas signed a two-way deal with the Heat last September before being waived in January due to a season-ending wrist injury, only to see himself earn one of their two-way contracts again this season.

When it comes to his potential as a player, for the long haul, Garrett’s size and defensive chops will keep him around the league. If he can continue to develop his offense, which is continuing to show promise from a shooting and penetration standpoint, he could be another great gem of a find for Miami.
