Miami Heat: They’ll Head To Mexico City To Face A Familiar Foe Near Christmas

The NBA is heading back over the border for the first time since 2019.

NBA Finals Rivals Head To Mexico (December 17th)

The Miami Heat will take on the San Antonio Spurs at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, marking the NBA’s 31st game ever in Mexico.

The Heat and Spurs rivalry has always been a fun one to watch, whether it was LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh taking on Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili in the NBA Finals, Kawhi Leonard stopping the Heat from going back-to-back-to-back, or other great moments.

No matter who the major players are, this rivalry lives up to the expectation every time they meet on a bigger stage. Now, they will take their rivalry to the international level by heading to Mexico City and that should be a big enough stage, even with the hodgepodge of young talent that San Antonio will probably throw out there this season.

These two will only meet twice this season (Dec. 10th and Dec. 17th) but make no mistake, when these two teams meet, the two matchups should be interesting. There are many other great matchups to watch this season all throughout the schedule, with teams like the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and others on tap.

About these three early in the season though, they should be must-watch because of the energy associated with each, the rivalries, along with the moments that these teams can and have created.
