With the Miami Heat looking to add another big-name player to their roster this offseason, they have found themselves in the throws of the rumor mill for much of it.
With the chatter mainly revolving around two guys over others, Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell, they have found themselves tied to guys like Gordon Hayward, John Collins, and the ever-present rumors tying them to Collin Sexton of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Back to Mitchell though, when it comes to the rumors surrounding him, you have to look at New York as the main suitor and probably the leader if he is to be moved. However, when it comes to Mitchell and the Miami Heat, there is a more robust connection there than anywhere else mentioned.
When you look at the relationship that Donovan Mitchell and Bam Adebayo share, there is no other connection that seems as strong for Mitchell. It’s also a huge part of the reason why this rumor won’t go away until Mitchell is dealt.
The Miami Heat and Donovan Mitchell noise won’t die until he’s dealt by the Utah Jazz. His connection to Bam Adebayo is a huge part of what fuels it all.
About that though and in light of them teaming up in a Miami summer league, Bam Adebayo was recently asked about the insinuation of him and Mitchell teaming up in the future on the NBA hardwood.
The question was, apparently, too hot for the Miami Heat big to handle. Here is the instance, with former All-Pro NFL wideout, Brandon Marshall of the I Am Athlete Podcast, asking the questions.
Bam Adebayo and Mitchell promptly avoided the question, basically. A smart move, as the mere answering of the question and even if posed by a media member, as Marshall is now, could be a violation of the league’s anti-tampering rules.
However, they had to know it was coming. Again, it’s a rumor that will go on until or if Mitchell is actually dealt away from the Utah Jazz.
With the haul that they got for Rudy Gobert, you imagine that it will take a few moving trucks to help tote the haul they’ll get for Mitchell. Either way, until they get that haul though, and no matter who they get it from, the Adebayo connection will keep these types of questions coming.
