Miami Heat: Kyle Lowry Better Overall But Gabe Vincent Had Better 2021-22

There is truth and untruth to the executives takeaway. Let’s start with the truth.

Gabe Vincent probably had a better overall season than Kyle Lowry did last season. You first take into account the eye test, what your senses tell you by watching the game.

Though Lowry had a different role as a starter and thus, a different magnitude of responsibility, Gabe excelled higher in his role than Lowry did in his and often took on some of Lowry’s role with him in and out of the lineup.

That also speaks to the mere volatility of how Lowry’s year went last season with his personal issues.

Any sport and especially basketball is about rhythm. When you can’t consistently establish it with your own tools and in synchrony with your teammates, it’ll be hard to be your best self.

That’s all on top of the fact that the same volatility surrounding his presence on the floor made it hard to stay in top shape. That’s just what you could see with your own two eyes though.

When you look at the numbers, they aren’t that far off either. They jive well with what you saw.
