With the Miami Heat getting active again and every single day getting closer to the NBA’s preseason opener, we’re now beginning to get a real view of what the rosters might look like around the Association.

Teams have made their trades, re-signings, and given extensions. What’s interesting is that the Miami Heat re-signed Victor Oladipo and Dewayne Dedmon, but have not given the rookie scale max-extension to Tyler Herro.

There’s usually no real information leak from inside Miami’s house, but the facts that there is no set price yet and no new reports of conversation even occurring are very mysterious.

There’s nothing really stopping Miami from offering it at this point though, one has to believe.

It was understandable to hold off at the beginning of the offseason. Had the Heat signed Herro to the rookie extension before free agency, Miami would not have been able to deal him until near the trade deadline (6 months) due to the rules in the NBA CBA.

At one point they were staked out, in wait of Kevin Durant, which was never a serious situation. This was all while they did practically nothing in the Donovan Mitchell sweepstakes.

So, what’s the wait for now?
