After the Miami Heat’s most recent defeat, a devastating dropped game to the winless Sacramento Kings, at the time, Coach Erik Spoelstra had had it with what he’s seen. Though usually one to offer thought after a contest, he’s never this bold, candid, or direct.

However, after the defeat, he seemed ready to let it all hang out. Here are those moments, per Five Reasons Sports.

As noted by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald in the original linked Tweet from above, that was the part that really got your antennae up. The part where Coach Spo addressed what he, apparently, believes to be players out there with their own agendas in mind.

The Miami Heat are in a bad spot right now. And according to their head coach, the only way they’ll get out of it is by playing for one another.

And while it can be speculated as to who or which of multiple players he is talking to, that’s not the important thing here. What is important is that this is a coach who typically doesn’t approach it this way.

This isn’t bad of him, as in, this isn’t him acting out of character, as much as it is the length he has to go to send this particular message. It’s also an indicator to his team of guys.

They should probably prepare themselves for what is to come. There will be changes, tweaks, and adjustments made—and Spo doesn’t seem as though he has time to coddle anyone that has an issue with those changes.

The Miami Heat haven’t looked good early in the season but that’s just it, it’s early. It’s actually really early and though you never want to see your favorite ball club doing this bad, you rather this happen now than at some unfixable point later in the year.

To be frank, you love to see this approach from Coach Spoelstra. You just hope the team gets the message.

Because all it takes is one tweak sometimes and perhaps, Spo is on the precipice of making it happen.
