The Miami Heat have needed everything that any of the guys along their entire roster could muster across this season already.

With this current latest stretch not even in consideration, they have already pressed the guy with two decades of service under his belt, Udonis Haslem, into more or as much action this season as they have for the last two combined. When you take into account all that the team has endured thus far, with the most recent stretch now firmly in consideration, it makes complete sense.

With Victor Oladipo and Omer Yurtseven practically having not played a minute this season, the Miami Heat have also seen missed chunks of time from almost everyone else on their roster. Gabe Vincent, Tyler Herro, Max Strus, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, Dewayne Dedmon, and Jimmy Butler are all guys that have missed key or elongated periods of play this season due to injury, among others.

But the guy that has been there through it all, playing in all 21 of the Miami Heat’s possible 21 games on the season thus far—has been none other than Kyle Lowry.

The Miami Heat have been more banged up than usual recently, but they are surviving. And tons of Kyle Lowry minutes have been a large part of that.

Averaging over 36 minutes per night so far this season, he is among the league leaders in the category on a per-game basis, while he sat second in the league to only Kevin Durant as far as total minutes played to enter the week.

Still in the top four after Monday’s schedule of games, the guys ahead of him in the category were all active on the night, while Lowry won’t play again until Wednesday.

While you wish he wasn’t among the leaders here, as this isn’t an accolade so to speak, though it does speak toward his fortitude and commitment at this stage, it does highlight just how much he is actually giving toward the Miami Heat’s mission.

With the Miami Heat being so banged up and needing his overall production, nonetheless the mere body, they’ve needed someone to step up. And that’s what Lowry has done, not only playing a ton of minutes but showing you that he still has some top-level gas left in the tank.

One thing that can’t be questioned at this point is his commitment and his conditioning, but you do have to see it continue. Other than the fact that he has to remain this assertive as the team gets healthy, you can’t ask for anything else from the veteran point guard, as he’s giving them all he’s got and then some.
