For as bad as it’s been at times for Miami Heat… they’re right there
The Miami Heat still have a lot of work to do on themselves. Needing to continue to figure things out and hammer out the finer details on both sides of the ball, they are appearing to find some things on both sides.
For example, the usage and deployment of Tyler Herro is an interesting development that definitely deserves following. That is occurring while the Miami Heat have also seen themselves play some of the best stretches of man defense that they have all year, being heavily reliant on the zone for so much of the year.
But even with that though, there are things beyond just what they do on the floor that impacts how this season will go. You have to beat the teams that are in front of you if you are the Miami Heat, of course, but you do that to keep up with the others around the conference and league, of course.
The Miami Heat still have work to do, but they are right there in the mix. Based on the history of this bunch, they’ll get where they need to be.
Well, when you look at the standings and though the seventh-placed Heat sit at just an average 15-15 on the year, at least back to .500 though, only four games separate them from the third-placed Cleveland Cavaliers.
And to be frank, only seven games, with a remainder of 52 for Miami, separates them from the first-placed Boston Celtics, a team they recently beat. Well, there’s that and the fact that this Celtics team’s kryptonite might be Jimmy Butler and this Miami Heat team, no matter the records.
The overall point of it all is this. The Miami Heat have not been good.
No, they haven’t. They have been average and they still have a lot to clean up to become good.
However, they have continued to fight, figure, and tinker themselves into a position where they still are right in the hunt to be able to do what it is they want to do at the end of the season—contend.
They need to continue stacking up wins though and that starts with winning the games you are supposed to win, something they have struggled with. Let’s see how it all goes in Mexico City for the Spurs, as revenge is a dish best served cold.
