With the Miami Heat searching for the thing that’ll get them back on track this season, it is all still before them. Though they have teetered and toggled around the .500 mark several times this season, hopefully, they can see themselves surpassing the mark and staying there this time around.
But again, with a ton of season left to go during this NBA calendar year, the Miami Heat still have as good a chance as anyone to make noise in, both, the conference and league championship proceedings. But speaking of “championship proceedings”, there is one team that has more than just winning at stake this postseason.
According to reports and specifically, Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, if the Atlanta Hawks don’t make some noise of their own this postseason, they may lose the biggest star that they currently roster.
Now, there are a few different ways to look at this, with the Hawks already having made a big move coming into this season. Bringing in Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs, that was thought to be one of thee moves that would help put Atlanta over the top.
The Miami Heat have young star power on the roster but there may be another on the market soon. Trae Young could be moved and the odds are kind to Miami.
However, as has been the case with other guys that needed the ball in their hands to be their best selves, it doesn’t always look so fluid betwixt the two dynamic point guards in Atlanta. There is also the whole John Collins situation as well.
Having a down year thus far, Collins has been one foot in and one foot out of Atlanta for some time now it seems, with those chants only seemingly becoming louder. Needless to say, all of the volatility that they have or could potentially have going on doesn’t bode well for the reports on Young’s future and his desires.
And when it comes to that future, some out there are reporting that the Miami Heat could play a part in it. Specifically, when it comes to where Young might end up if he is to ask out of Atlanta, some have the Miami Heat as the second-highest-ranked team, from an odds perspective, to land his services.
While the fit is another topic and a bigger discussion altogether, this is an interesting little nugget of discussion to dive into. But who knows, as nothing seems imminent at the moment.
While this rumor does seem to have legs at this point, all signs point to it being planned for after this current season before any potential movement happens. So, keep your eyes on Atlanta if Young might interest you, because he just may be on the move this offseason.
