The Miami Heat are coming off one of their biggest wins of the year on Monday night.
In a meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers in their home building, the Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Miami Heat finally got back on the good foot after dropping two consecutive games in tremendously poor fashion coming out of the All-Star break.
Not being able to sink a shot in either of them, throwing a rock in the ocean or hitting the broadside of a barn would’ve both been fair notions in those two games. However, the Miami Heat would do enough to beat one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA on Monday.
But, it must be noted, they were still without the services of their starting point guard, Kyle Lowry, in the process of getting such a crucial needed victory.
The Miami Heat solidified their big man depth in recent weeks, but may still have a need at guard. And with Goran Dragic now a free man, it’s worth an ask.
And with this bit of recent news, that fact brings about just that much more intrigue. But first, here’s that news.
Rumored to be on the outs several weeks ago with the Chicago Bulls, former Miami Heat guard, Goran Dragic, has officially been released. And yes, though the Miami Heat did add two bodies in recent weeks, Kevin Love and Cody Zeller, that still doesn’t do much for the guard rotation.
Now, you have to ask yourself, would the Miami Heat make space for Goran Dragic at this stage in his career? Basically, would they cut someone?
Although the answer may seem pretty clear, it isn’t so much so the case and especially with the Miami Heat’s need for point production and more depth at the guard spot. After solidifying the big man rotation with Zeller and Love, it might actually be a question.
At the very least, you keep one eye on the situation.
