With the highly anticipated 2023 NBA Draft now over to officially kickstart the offseason, the Miami Heat are now on deck to address questions surrounding their roster notwithstanding their recent Finals appearance.

Fortunately, while only in possession of a singular draft pick, the front office managed to secure a solid piece in UCLA standout Jaime Jaquez Jr. with their 18th selection. Not to be left behind, the team also struck summer league deals with undrafted rookies — Washington State’s Justin Powell, Marist’s Patrick Gardner, Utah State’s Taylor Funk, Villanova’s Caleb Daniels, and USC’s Drew Peterson.

The Miami Heat have to address some roster issues following the 2023 NBA Draft

That being said, while the Heat have indisputably been the league’s best at finding undrafted gems, they would be foolish to reckon that their draft additions would be enough to take them over the hump next season. Hence, Pat Riley and company have their work cut out for them with free agency around the corner.

Miami is currently projected to be well over the cap and is also likely to operate without their mid-level exception (as the team is expected to cross the second apron). In account of these limitations, here are value free agents whom the Miami Heat can pursue without breaking the bank to address roster issues following the conclusion of the 2023 Draft.

P.S. Don’t expect any All-Stars here.
